1. What Information Do We Collect?
In Short: We collect personal information that you voluntarily, "at-will," provide to us. Nothing more.
We only collect personal information on an at-will basis — meaning it is entirely up to you to decide what you want to share. We do not require any information beyond what is strictly necessary to operate your account, and you control how much (or how little) you provide.
You may voluntarily share information with us when you register on the Services, express an interest in our community, participate in activities on the Services, or otherwise contact us.
Personal information you may choose to provide:
- Names (or aliases / scene names)
- Contact
- Other personal details you optionally fill out on the Profile page
Personal information required for active membership within the organization:
- Legal first and last name
- Date of birth
- Email address (is also required for website registration)
All personal information for membership that you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes to such personal information. Failure to do so may result in suspension of membership. Profile information is entirely up to you, the user.
2. How Do We Process Your Information?
In Short: We process your information to provide and administer our Services, communicate with you, and — where you choose — to display your profile to other members.
We process your personal information for a limited set of reasons depending on how you interact with our Services, including:
- Account creation and authentication. We process your information so you can create and log in to your account, as well as keep your account in working order.
- Optional community visibility. Information within the Profile tab of the Profile page may be displayed to other users on the website only if you choose to by setting yourself to "visible." This setting is fully reversible — you may revoke it at any time by setting yourself to "invisible," and your profile will no longer be shown to other users.
- Administrative communication. We may process your information to send you member-wide announcements, changes to our terms and policies, and similar updates.
- Legal compliance. We may process your information to comply with our legal obligations, respond to legal requests, and exercise, establish, or defend our legal rights.
3. When and With Whom Do We Share Your Personal Information?
In Short: We will never sell or share any information you provide to third parties.
We will never sell or share any information provided to us with third parties — for advertising, profit, marketing, profiling, or any other external purpose. There are no service providers, advertisers, partners, or buyers receiving your data from us.
Internal data movement. Information you provide may be downloaded by us solely for the purpose of transferring it into a new database in the case of a security breach or movement of infrastructure. This is an internal operations action — your data does not leave the control of Mile High Pets and Handlers, and it is not disclosed to any outside party in the process.
Visibility to other community members. The only time your information is shown beyond our internal systems is when you choose to make your profile "visible" to other logged-in users (see Section 2). You may set yourself to "invisible" at any time to revoke this.
4. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In Short: We keep your information only for as long as necessary, or until you ask us to delete it.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which you have an account with us.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will delete such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.
5. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In Short: We protect your information through technical and organizational security measures.
We have implemented appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational security measures designed to protect the security of any personal information we process. In the event of a security incident or required movement of infrastructure, your data may be exported and re-imported into a new database — but only by us, and only for the purpose of restoring or relocating the Services. It is never released to third parties during this process.
However, despite our safeguards, no electronic transmission over the Internet or information storage technology can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. We cannot promise or guarantee that hackers, cybercriminals, or other unauthorized third parties will not be able to defeat our security and improperly collect, access, steal, or modify your information. Although we will do our best to protect your personal information, transmission of personal information to and from our Services is at your own risk. You should only access the Services within a secure environment.
6. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to minors.
Minors (anyone under the age of 18) will be removed from access and may face potential banning from joining.
7. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In Short: You may review, change, hide, or terminate your account at any time.
Withdrawing your consent. If we are relying on your consent to process your personal information, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 11. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing carried out before your withdrawal, nor any processing based on lawful grounds other than consent.
Account information. If you would like to review or change the information in your account, hide your profile from other users, or terminate your account, you can:
- Log in and update your profile from the Profile page.
- Toggle your visibility between "visible" and "invisible" at any time.
- Delete your profile to revoke and remove all stored information.
- Ask an admin or board member to delete your information on your behalf.
Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. We may retain a minimal amount of information to prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, assist with investigations, enforce our legal terms, and/or comply with applicable legal requirements before deletion. Active deletion from the user themselves will delete all information available immediately with nothing retained.
If you have questions or comments about your privacy rights, you may email us at milehighpah@gmail.com.
8. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized. As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.
California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
9. Do United States Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?
In Short: If you are a resident of Colorado (or other US states with applicable laws), you may have additional rights regarding your personal information.
You may have the right to request access to and receive details about the personal information we maintain about you and how we have processed it, correct inaccuracies, get a copy of, or delete your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your personal information. These rights may be limited in some circumstances by applicable law.
